Tami Haaland is the author of two books of poetry: When We Wake in the Night, and Breath in Every Room. Her poems have appeared in many journals and anthologies and have been featured on The Writer’s Almanac, Verse Daily, and American Life in Poetry. Haaland is a professor of creative writing and literature at Montana State University Billings. For five years she taught at Montana Women’s
Prison and is currently coordinating a writing-in-the-schools program for Arts without Boundaries. She
teaches modern and contemporary poetry for the Bahá’í Institute of Higher Education, and she serves as Montana’s Poet Laureate.
