John S. Hatcher is Professor Emeritus in English literature at the University of South Florida in Tampa where he taught for forty years. He is a poet, lecturer, translator, and author, having published twenty-five books, some of which have been translated into multiple languages. His most recent books are Sparks of Fire: Unknown Poetry of Tahirih (US BPT, 2024) and The Body of God: A Reader’s Guide to Bahá’u’lláh’s Súrih of the Temple (Bahá’í Studies Publishing, 2022). He was editor of the Journal of Bahá’í Studies for seven years, and has been a guest lecturer at various distinguished universities.
