The nurturance and furtherance of an individual’s self-identity is synonymous with the individual’s mental and spiritual growth. The way in which an individual can grow mentally and spiritually through music is investigated by using the Bahá’í writings on music as a foundation for philosophical inquiry. The use of the Bahá’í writings helps to explain and clarify the more than two-thousand-year-old mystery of how music affects the human soul.</p>}, number={1}, journal={The Journal of Bahá’í Studies}, author={Hart, Kerry}, year={1989}, month={Mar.}, pages={1–16} }
